1. I first met Michael in 1988 when I did my my internship in internal medicine in Hasharon Hospital. Michael took me (as well as other young doctors) under his wings as he was a resident. His coaching, smart advice, and guidance was priceless. He helped us mature as physicians. He helped me in getting a locum job in Magen David Adom/Natan services in Petach Tikva. This was a milestone in my medical career prior serving in the IDF as an MD. Since then Michael became a friend and colleague to me as well as to my wife (also an intern a at the same time in Hasharon Hospital.
   Michael was a newcomer to Israel many years prior to other MDs moving to Israel. He kept serving in the IDF as part of the military reserve, with days on end being as physician in Lebanon and The Golan Heights.
   In 2002 we moved to Canada. This did not interfere with Michael's efforts
   to keep in touch, always sending an email or calling on our birthdays, and holidays.
   We last saw Michael in June of this year on our trip to Israel.
   Tears come to my eyes, and a lump is stuck in my throat.
   We last emailed Michael in Sep. 2014 wishing him Shana Tova. He did not reply.
   We should have known that something went terribly wrong.
   Michael was the kindest person.
   Our loss of such a friend is heart breaking.
   Michael- we will NEVER forget you!
